  • Bringing the fascinating world of medieval manuscripts to a new generation

  • one large illumianted leaf, a page from a choirbook from the renaissance, with a large initial full of color

Making illuminated manuscripts and single leaves known to the general public is one of the highlights of our activity. Worthy representatives of a rich, fascinating and captivating era, the illuminated manuscripts and miniatures from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance are intimate precious witness to history, art, and the daily life of the past. Like true treasures, they have enchanted for centuries and are still enchanting today, both for their historical and artistic value as well as for their freshness, beauty and modernity. We are creating a new taste for medieval treasures and old masters works by mixing them with selected modern pieces and with emerging contemporary artists.

Holding a medieval manuscript in the palm of your hand, from the comfort of our modern world, is like touching art and the intimate face of history. As rare and private artwork rich of history, the illuminated manuscript is undoubtedly some of the most beautiful and rare witnesses of Western artistic production, allowing its owner to hold hundreds of year of history in the palm of their hands.

La Gabrielle Fine Arts SA is proud to make a constant effort to share its passion for illuminated manuscripts and single leaves and is always delighted to present to all enthusiasts and established collectors a selection of great quality illuminated manuscripts or leaves available on the market.
